100+ Labs startups now have a new opportunity to scale their impact in the food and beverage sector. The latest edition of the program is placing a strong focus on food safety, sustainability, circular economy, and logistics efficiency.
Call for innovative solutions with real-world application
The call for applications opened on July 22 and will remain open until September 2. It targets early-stage ventures aiming to develop technologies that ensure safer, healthier, and more sustainable food systems. Selected startups will run pilots in collaboration with participating companies and can receive up to 40 million Chilean pesos in funding to accelerate their solutions.

“Food safety is a key pillar for building a trustworthy and sustainable industry,” said José Antonio Alonso, Legal and Corporate Affairs Director at Cervecería AB InBev. “We believe that open innovation and collaboration with startups are the best ways to tackle big challenges and raise our standards of quality and sustainability.”
Since 2018, 100+ Labs has been part of AB InBev’s global Accelerator 100+ network, present in over 30 countries. In Chile, the program launched in 2021 and has received over 560 applications from both local and international startups. Many of these ventures have already been integrated into the value chains of participating companies.
What kind of solutions are they looking for?
The 2025 edition of 100+ Labs is particularly interested in technologies that address:
- Real-time quality and hygiene monitoring in food plants
- Reduction of contaminants in production processes
- End-to-end traceability for food safety
- Optimization of water and energy usage in food production
- Safe and sustainable packaging innovations
- Recycling and waste valorization under strict sanitary standards

Industry leaders open doors to startups
Coca-Cola Andina’s External Communications Manager emphasized that food safety is a shared responsibility, and that partnering with startups brings in cutting-edge technologies to drive more resilient and transparent supply chains.
For Coca-Cola Embonor, this kind of collaboration is essential to staying at the forefront of the beverage industry. “Food safety must be at the heart of every process,” said Jorge Herrera, Manager of People and Corporate Affairs. “Startups bring purposeful innovation that helps us add real value.”

Nutrisco’s Corporate Sustainability Manager, Fiorella Montoya, echoed this commitment: “We believe a modern food industry must ensure safety at every stage. That’s why we’re opening our doors to solutions that help us build a healthier and more sustainable food system.”
Applications now open for 100+ Labs startups
Success stories from previous editions show the tangible impact of the initiative. Done Properly, for instance, repurposes brewing waste into biotech ingredients; Nilus restores ecosystems to secure water access; and EfiLabs improves industrial tire management to reduce environmental risks.
Valentina González, General Manager of Socialab, summed it up: “Startups focused on food safety and sustainability are transforming how food is produced, distributed, and consumed. With 100+ Labs, we’re building bridges between innovators and industry leaders.”
The current call presents a concrete opportunity for 100+ Labs startups to co-develop scalable solutions with some of the most influential companies in Latin America’s food and beverage industry. Applications are open through September 2.
