Agent.Shop, a Brazilian platform that enables brands and retailers to sell directly through AI-powered shopping agents on WhatsApp, social media, and the web, has raised R$5.5 million (around US$1 million) in a seed round. The investment was led by MAYA Capital, Caravela Capital, and Mira Capital, marking a key milestone in the company’s mission to deliver a complete conversational and social shopping experience.

The funds will be used to expand the company’s technology team and accelerate its commercial rollout in Brazil, with plans for international expansion in the near future.

Founded by Experienced Retail Tech Entrepreneurs

The project is led by two entrepreneurs well known in Brazil’s retail and technology sectors: Eduardo Petrelli, founder of James Delivery and Mercado Diferente, and Paulo Monçores, who has held senior roles at VTEX, Shopify, and Mercado Diferente.

Agent.Shop’s proprietary technology automates every stage of the e-commerce process, from catalog and checkout to payments and order management, making advanced AI commerce accessible to any business.

Building this kind of infrastructure in-house is expensive and time-consuming,” explained Petrelli. “We created Agent.Shop to democratize access and give every brand the same conversational selling power that only large players could afford before.

The “Shopify for the Conversational Era”

Agent.Shop is built on the belief that AI is transforming conversations and social interactions into commerce opportunities. According to Petrelli, the current technological landscape allows any company to scale sales with intelligence and agility.

So far, the platform offers over 20 native integrations with e-commerce systems, ERPs, logistics, and payment providers. It also features official API integrations with Meta (WhatsApp and Instagram) and TikTok, a semantic search engine capable of understanding natural-language buying intent, and automatic SKU enrichment that turns simple catalogs into smart, conversational storefronts.

The system’s multi-agent architecture enables specialized sales agents across business verticals, while content personalization allows retailers to train their AI assistants in their brand’s tone of voice and style.

Reducing Friction and Boosting Retail Growth

Co-founder Paulo Monçores emphasized that the platform’s goal is to simplify the customer journey and boost conversions:

We’re giving retailers the ability to sell directly through Brazil’s most popular channels, social, conversational, or AI-based, with a 100% automated and scalable process,” said Monçores.

By offering a plug-and-play solution, Agent.Shop positions itself as the “Shopify for the conversational era”, empowering businesses of all sizes to adopt AI-driven assisted sales without heavy engineering or infrastructure costs.

A New Phase for Conversational Commerce in Latin America

With this round, Agent.Shop consolidates its role as one of Latin America’s most promising players in AI-powered retail technology. Its approach aligns with the growing global shift toward conversational commerce, where interactions through chatbots, AI agents, and messaging apps are transforming how consumers shop and how brands engage with them.
