Canopy Makes First Acquisition with Solus Deal in Brazilian Healthtech
Canopy completes its first acquisition by purchasing Solus, a Brazilian health software provider, marking the debut of its consolidation strategy in the healthcare sector.
Canopy, the Brazilian software consolidator founded last year by former Sinqia executive Thiago Rocha, has completed its first acquisition following a US$100 million fundraising round. The company acquired Solus, a technology provider focused on health insurance operators, in a deal valued at approximately R$56 million, around 10% of the capital raised in July.
“Our choice was to enter the healthcare market through operators, and Solus is capable of building a complete ERP for these clients,” said Rocha.
Solus strengthens Canopy’s presence among health operators

Founded in 2001 in Londrina, Solus offers a SaaS platform that unifies commercial, operational, and financial management for its customers.
The company currently serves 100 of the 600 entities registered with Brazil’s National Health Agency (ANS), positioning it as a relevant player in the health insurance ecosystem.
Leadership transition and operational integration
As part of the acquisition, Renata Coutinho will lead the business during the transition period until an internal Solus executive assumes the role, according to Rocha.
She replaces one of Solus’ founders, Flavio Kato, who had been serving as CEO. Another founder, Alcir Bufalo, had already exited the operation prior to the deal.

A milestone in Canopy’s consolidation strategy
The acquisition of Solus marks the formal launch of Canopy’s consolidation thesis. The company is currently in the final due diligence phase of another healthcare transaction and is evaluating three additional opportunities across different sectors. Canopy expects to close these deals within the first half of the year.
Rocha co-founded Canopy alongside entrepreneurs Guilherme Chiaramonti and Arthur Gomes, positioning the company to pursue further acquisitions as it builds a diversified software portfolio.
