CATAL1.5°T launches new edition of its acceleration program
CATAL1.5°T opens applications for its third acceleration program, offering up to €100,000 in funding to climate tech startups across Latin America.

CATAL1.5°T has launched its third call for climate-focused startups in Latin America. The initiative is looking for tech-driven ventures that offer innovative solutions to address the climate crisis and already have a validated business model.
Accelerating High-Impact Solutions
Backed by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the program is implemented by the Eugenio Garza Lagüera Institute of Entrepreneurship at Tecnológico de Monterrey, in partnership with GIZ Mexico and Climate KIC.
CATAL1.5°T targets startups operating in strategic sectors such as clean energy, sustainable mobility, resilient cities, and land-use management. The goal is to support innovations that help reduce emissions and strengthen climate resilience across the region.
What the Acceleration Program Offers
Selected startups will take part in a five-month program that includes:
- Tailored workshops on business strategy, climate technology, and ESG frameworks
- Technical guidance for projecting and measuring greenhouse gas mitigation
- Access to a network of mentors and climate innovation experts
- Non-dilutive grants of up to €100,000 to advance their solutions

Who Can Apply?
Startups operating in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, or the Dominican Republic are eligible to apply. Proposals must align with at least one of the following impact areas:
- Access to and generation of clean energy
- Low-emission transportation
- Sustainable cities, industries, and buildings
- Forest conservation and land use management
Applications are open until August 8, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (GMT-5) and can be submitted via this website.
Investing in Local Climate Innovation
Since its launch, the CATAL1.5°T acceleration program has supported 20 startups with over €2 million in funding. With this new call, the initiative continues to position Latin America as a key hub for climate innovation, powered by entrepreneurs who understand the region’s unique environmental and social challenges.
