CMI Compliance Summit: Leading with purpose
Compliance Summit fostered a rich exchange on the role of ethical leadership in corporate sustainability.

In the framework of the Second International Compliance and Corporate Governance Summit held in Guatemala, CMI (Corporación Multi Inversiones) reiterated its commitment to ethical, transparent, and purpose-driven business management.
Ancestral Leadership Inspiring Modern Governance
Under the theme “Compliance Systems: The Ancestral Legacy Defining Modern Governance,” the event brought together business leaders, scholars, and international experts to explore how ancestral leadership principles continue to shape today’s corporate governance models.
Zoltan Rodas, President of WCA Guatemala, emphasized the goal of the event: “This edition aims to create a space for dialogue, training, and networking where ancestral values are integrated into modern compliance systems, fostering ethics, good governance, and integrity across organizations.”
CMI Highlights the Power of Congruent Leadership
During his address, Enrique Crespo, CEO of CMI Capital, shared how ancestral models such as the Ahau, leaders accountable for the well-being of their communities, mirror the responsibilities of today’s top management. He stressed that effective leadership must be aligned with organizational values and focused on generating positive impact.
“Leadership is not about authority alone; it’s about inspiring, transforming, and making a difference. At CMI, we lead with purpose, vision, and a deep sense of responsibility,” Crespo noted.
International Standards and Corporate Values at the Core
Crespo also highlighted the importance of implementing international compliance standards, including the recent ISO 37001 anti-bribery certification obtained by CMI. He reinforced that the company’s REIR values, Responsibility, Excellence, Integrity, and Respect, remain essential pillars for purposeful leadership.
A Regional Dialogue on Ethical Leadership
The Summit fostered a rich exchange on the role of ethical leadership in corporate sustainability, featuring international experts such as Iván Martínez (Spain), Olga Pontes (Brazil), Christian Paredes (Mexico), Lina Velásquez (Colombia), and Santiago Barreto (Bolivia), among others.
Enrique Crespo concluded: “The leadership of today’s Ahau translates into responsible corporate citizenship, long-term vision, and a deep connection with values that define us. Let’s continue being leaders with purpose, leaders who inspire, transform, and make history.”
