COFIDE Strengthens Capital Markets with First Commitment to SURA–Credicorp Infrastructure Fund
COFIDE commits up to US$ 6.5M to FIP Infraestructura II, launching its US$ 100M program to deepen Peru’s capital markets.
COFIDE has completed the first commitment under its Fund Participation Program, an initiative of up to USD 100 million designed to strengthen Peru’s capital markets and channel long-term financing into strategic sectors.
The investment was made in the Fondo de Inversión en Infraestructura II SURA Investments – Credicorp Capital (FIP Infraestructura II), a private equity vehicle managed by Unión para la Infraestructura (UPI). The fund aims to raise between US$ 150 million and US$ 200 million and will prioritize projects in Peru across energy and energy transition, transport and logistics, social infrastructure, and telecommunications.
COFIDE committed up to US$ 6.5 million as one of the anchor investors. In this role, it seeks to lower risk perception, attract additional private capital, and facilitate the structuring and financial close of long-term infrastructure projects.
Program Background and Previous Investments

The Fund Participation Program was approved in December 2025 to deepen the local capital market and expand financing sources for infrastructure and productive sectors.
Prior to its formal launch, COFIDE had already invested in similar vehicles, including an infrastructure fund with S/ 44 million allocated to connectivity projects in Lima, and a factoring fund backed with S/ 25 million to enhance liquidity for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Through this new commitment, COFIDE consolidates its strategy of mobilizing private investment toward projects with strong economic and social impact, helping address Peru’s infrastructure gaps.
Investment Focus: Energy, Transport and Social Infrastructure
FIP Infraestructura II will channel capital primarily into projects in Peru, targeting sectors considered critical for long-term development. These include energy and energy transition initiatives, transport and logistics platforms, social infrastructure, and telecommunications.
The vehicle’s structure as a private equity fund allows it to provide patient capital aligned with the long investment horizons typically required by infrastructure assets.
UPI’s Regional Track Record in Infrastructure
The appointment of UPI reflects its experience managing infrastructure investments across the Andean region. Through its first fund, the platform deployed approximately US$ 100 million in energy and transport assets, including renewable generation and electricity distribution projects.
UPI is a strategic alliance between SURA Investments and Credicorp Capital. Over the past decade, it has built a specialized infrastructure investment and financing platform using both debt and equity strategies for institutional investors. Its multidisciplinary teams bring more than 20 years of average experience in origination, structuring, and active asset management under governance and risk management standards aligned with international best practices.
