Mova Raises US$2M to Scale EV Charging and Mobility Data Infrastructure in Brazil

Mova has secured a new US$2 million funding round, bringing its total capital raised to US$5 million since inception, as the company accelerates the expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging network and strengthens its mobility data infrastructure.

From validation to national-scale expansion

The latest investment follows a previous US$3 million seed round, which valued the company at approximately US$36 million (R$180 million). According to Mova, this new capital marks a strategic shift from technology validation to nationwide operational scaling.

The company has already begun its physical expansion with two initial hubs in Florianópolis, integrated within the We Charge network. By April, Mova expects to activate between 10 and 20 charging stations across Brazil’s South, Southeast, and Midwest regions, with a target of reaching 50 charging points by the end of the year.

Mova’s CEO, Augusto Bihre Letsch, highlighted the dual focus of the investment:

This investment allows us to accelerate the expansion of our charging network while strengthening our data infrastructure. We are not just building charging stations, but a foundational layer of auditable information for electric mobility in Brazil. Our goal is to integrate physical infrastructure with operational intelligence into a scalable ecosystem.”

Growing user base and mobility data footprint

Mova’s platform currently has 29,860 registered users, with 15,860 active users. To date, the company has tracked 147,050 trips, totaling 3.3 million kilometers and collecting 179,000 hours of telemetry data.

The company aims to reach one million users within the year, signaling an aggressive growth strategy aligned with its infrastructure rollout.

A data-first platform powered by blockchain

Mova operates through a mobile application that captures vehicle usage data directly from drivers’ smartphones. The system collects information such as distance traveled, usage time, and mobility patterns, which are then validated before being recorded on blockchain.

According to Product Director Antônio Farias:

Mova starts from real data, not financial assets. We have developed a system of continuous qualification, behavioral validation, and on-chain registration that reduces regulatory risk and avoids greenwashing. Companies are shifting from estimated metrics to evidence-based metrics, and that is where our infrastructure becomes relevant.

Use cases for enterprises and the public sector

The company states that its data infrastructure can support fleet emissions analysis, urban mobility planning, and environmental reporting for both private companies and public institutions.

Farias added that Mova is already exploring collaborations with public mobility programs:

We are building a digital infrastructure integrated with physical electromobility operations to address the lack of reliable data in Brazil. Companies need to prove real fleet emissions and operational efficiency, while governments require structured data to design mobility and decarbonization policies.

Business outlook and projections

Founded in 2025, Mova currently operates with a team of approximately 20 employees and maintains partnerships with companies in the electric mobility and carbon credit sectors.

The startup projects an annual revenue between US$4.2 million and US4.8 million (R$21–24 million) in its early phase, with ambitions to scale up to US$54 million (R$270 million) within five years.
