Yape has expanded its international payments strategy by enabling money transfers from Peru to users of Yape Bolivia. The new feature strengthens the super app's regional ecosystem while making cross-border remittances faster and more accessible through a fully digital experience.

Yape introduces direct remittances to Bolivia

The Peruvian super app announced that users can now send money directly from Peru to Yape Bolivia, its sister application in the neighboring country, which already serves more than 4 million users.

The feature allows users to complete remittances directly within the app, simplifying the traditional transfer process for individuals with family, business, or professional connections between Peru and Bolivia.

Users can send up to S/500 per day

According to the company, customers will be able to transfer up to S/500 per day from Peru to Yape Bolivia.

The service is available through the remittances section of the application, where users can complete the entire transaction using the platform's digital workflow.

Regional expansion remains a strategic priority

The addition of Bolivia represents another step in Yape's strategy to expand its cross-border payment and remittance services across the region.

Raimundo Morales, CEO of Yape, said the company remains focused on making financial services simpler while strengthening its regional digital ecosystem.

"This innovation allows us to continue connecting more people across the region through simple, fast, and secure digital solutions, leveraging our operation in Bolivia. To date, this functionality has enabled more than S/75 million to be sent from Peru to different countries, and we aim to continue expanding our international coverage," he said.

Digital wallets continue driving financial connectivity

With Bolivia joining its international network, Yape further strengthens its position as one of the leading digital wallets in the Andean region.

The expansion also reflects the growing role of digital wallets as an alternative for sending money between countries quickly, securely, and directly from a mobile phone.

By incorporating Yape Bolivia as a new remittance destination, the company continues to broaden its regional reach while reinforcing its commitment to more accessible and connected digital financial services across Latin America.
