Aster Opens Call for Mining Startup Acceleration Program
Aster, the accelerator powered by Escondida | BHP and located in the Antofagasta Region, has announced its sixth call for startups focused on the mining sector. With a portfolio valued at US$61 million, where 48% of innovations originate from this Chilean region, Aster is positioned as a key catalyst for technological development in the mining industry.
Acceleration Process and Financing
The call is aimed at startups in the pre-seed or seed stage demonstrating potential for internationalization and scalability. Aster seeks innovative solutions, both in software and hardware, developed internally by applying companies. The application dates are from June 4th to July 5th.
Selected startups will have the opportunity to participate in an intensive four-month acceleration program. This program is designed not only to boost the growth of participating companies, but also to provide access to funding of up to US$50,000 through the Coppernico venture capital fund. Managed by ChileGlobal Ventures in collaboration with Escondida | BHP, this fund aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.
Recognition at Exponor and the Aster Demo Day
Since its launch in 2021, Aster has stood out as an innovation driver in Antofagasta, supporting the development of 56 startups with sales exceeding US$7 million. The accelerator has actively engaged in key events such as Exponor, Latin America's largest mining fair, where it has solidified its role as a facilitator of connections and strategic launches.
During the latest Exponor edition, Aster hosted the Aster Demo Day, an event where previously accelerated startups showcased their solutions to a panel of industry experts. This event not only provided crucial visibility for the startups but also resulted in significant investments through the Coppernico fund.
