CMI Bets on Electric Mobility Across Latin America
Learn how CMI is revolutionizing its operations in Latin America by integrating electromobility.
Under the strategic leadership of Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez and Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), has embarked on an innovative electromobility project in Latin America, marking a milestone in its commitment to sustainability.
This approach not only reflects a commitment to energy efficiency but also a conscious effort to mitigate environmental impact across Latin America. With the rollout of the company’s first electric fleet and the adoption of renewable energy, CMI positions itself as a leader in sustainable business practices in the region.
Transitioning to Electromobility
CMI’s business groups, CMI Capital and CMI Foods, have jointly launched the first units of their inaugural electric fleet. These vehicles, part of CMI Foods’ B4C operation which includes products like pasta, cookies, and soups, are powered by certified renewable energy in Guatemala.
This transition not only contributes to reducing noise pollution but also prevents the emission of approximately 300 tons of CO2 over the estimated eight-year lifespan of the vehicles. Moreover, this effort aligns with the corporate goal of reducing more than 2.1 million cumulative tons of CO2 by both business groups.
Economic and Environmental Impact
The introduction of the electric fleet, in addition to being a sustainability strategy, also offers economic advantages, such as a 10% cost savings compared to the current fleet expenses.
In this sense, these economic benefits highlight the potential of electromobility as a viable commercial solution for more companies in the industrial sector, particularly those valuing sustainability and seeking to integrate eco-friendly practices into their production processes.
Leadership and Vision for the Future
Under the leadership of the third family generation with Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez and Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga at the helm, CMI has not only adopted innovative solutions for sustainability but has also reinforced its commitment to the economic and social development of the communities where it operates. Bosch's vision to integrate operations and sustainable solutions into business strategies has been crucial in positioning CMI as a benchmark in promoting green technologies and decarbonization in Latin America.
Thus, CMI’s commitment to electromobility reflects its innovative leadership and dedication to sustainability. Moreover, the company sets a high standard for the industrial sector in Latin America, demonstrating that integrating sustainable practices is essential for business success and environmental conservation. This approach not only benefits CMI but also inspires other companies to follow its example in the pursuit of a greener and more sustainable future.
