FEMSA & Coca-Cola FEMSA Join the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index 2026
FEMSA & Coca-Cola FEMSA were included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index 2026, recognizing their leadership in sustainability, ESG strategy, governance, and long-term value creation.
FEMSA and Coca-Cola FEMSA strengthened their position as global sustainability leaders after being included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index 2026, developed by S&P Dow Jones Indices. The recognition highlights both companies’ commitment to integrating sustainability and competitiveness into their long-term business strategies.
The index brings together the top 10% of the 2,500 largest global companies with the strongest sustainability performance in each industry, according to the S&P Global BMI. With this recognition, FEMSA and Coca-Cola FEMSA became the only Mexican companies in the food and beverage sector included in their respective industry categories.
FEMSA Strengthens Its Global Sustainability Position
For FEMSA, the inclusion represents its second consecutive year as part of the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index. The company had already reached a milestone in 2024 by becoming one of the first Mexican companies in more than 25 years to enter the global sustainability benchmark.
Jessica Ponce de León, Sustainability Director at FEMSA, said the recognition reflects a strategy that has been developed over decades and embedded into the company’s operations.
“At FEMSA, sustainability is not a parallel effort: it is integrated into the way we operate and make decisions across more than 18 countries. Being included alongside Coca-Cola FEMSA in the Dow Jones Best-In-Class World Index confirms the maturity of a strategy we have built over more than 135 years,” she stated.
FEMSA currently operates across several industries, including retail, health, and digital financial services. Through businesses such as OXXO, Valora, and Spin by OXXO, as well as its participation in Coca-Cola FEMSA, the company employs more than 392,000 people in 18 countries.

Coca-Cola FEMSA Achieves Historic ESG Performance
Coca-Cola FEMSA entered the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index for the first time in 2026. The company also joined the Dow Jones Best-in-Class MILA Pacific Alliance Index, marking a major milestone in its sustainability journey.
The recognition was supported by Coca-Cola FEMSA’s historic score of 81 points in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), the fourth-highest result globally within its sector.
According to the company, the result reflects consistent performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices integrated throughout its business operations and long-term strategy.
During 2025, Coca-Cola FEMSA strengthened initiatives focused on water management, climate action, circular economy programs, employee safety, and corporate transparency. The company also reported for the first time in alignment with IFRS S1 and S2 standards, as well as the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework.
Catherine Reuben, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Coca-Cola FEMSA, highlighted the significance of the achievement.
“Joining the Dow Jones Best-In-Class World Index for the first time represents a milestone for Coca-Cola FEMSA and confirms the strength of a sustainability strategy integrated into the business. This recognition reflects consistent management focused on creating long-term sustainable value,” she said.

Long-Term ESG Commitment Across Operations
The inclusion of both FEMSA and Coca-Cola FEMSA in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index and the Dow Jones Best-in-Class MILA Pacific Alliance Index reinforces their commitment to long-term value creation through ESG integration.
Both companies stated that the recognition reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, transparency, operational resilience, and sustainability standards while maintaining competitiveness on a global scale.
