Grupo Cibest completes the acquisition of 100% of Avista Colombia, adding the fintech focused on financial access for the silver economy.
Grupo Cibest has officially completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Colombian fintech Avista Colombia, following the fulfillment of all conditions required for the transaction. With the closing, Avista becomes part of the financial holding while maintaining its operational independence.
The fintech develops digital solutions designed to expand access to financial products for people within the silver economy segment. According to Grupo Cibest, Avista has previously been recognized among the 50 most inclusive fintech companies in the world and among the 100 Colombian startups with the greatest potential.
Avista’s Growth and Reach in Colombia
Founded seven years ago, Avista Colombia has served more than 146,000 Colombians through its financing product portfolio. The company has reported approximately US$2.9 trillion in disbursements, while its total loan portfolio reached US$1.5 trillion as of June 2026.
Its operations extend across the country, with a presence in 1,007 municipalities across Colombia’s 32 departments.
Avista is also a B Corporation, a certification that recognizes its commitment to a responsible business model and positive impact. The company has additionally joined the United Nations Global Compact, supporting the implementation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.
The fintech also holds ratings from Fitch and BRC Ratings.

What Does Avista Colombia Do?
Avista’s purpose is to provide access to payroll-deducted loans to people across income segments and throughout Colombia, including rural areas.
The company relies on technological capabilities, including data analysis, to develop financial products with competitive pricing, agile disbursement mechanisms and what it describes as a positive customer experience.
Through the acquisition, Grupo Cibest expects to strengthen Avista’s strategy by providing access to the holding’s financial, operational, commercial, reputational and technological capabilities.
The transaction is expected to provide Avista with greater capital strength, more efficient access to funding, improved processes, and stronger risk management and control practices.
Grupo Cibest Seeks to Strengthen Inclusive Financing

Juan Carlos Mora, CEO of Grupo Cibest, said Avista’s integration strengthens the holding’s ability to reach more people with inclusive financing solutions.
“This step strengthens our value proposition with inclusive financing solutions and opportunities that guarantee the proximity, knowledge of each person’s reality and superior experience that Colombians require and demand, especially those belonging to the silver economy, in a context of growth of this population. We are confident that this acquisition will further strengthen our ties with thousands of Colombians in every corner of the country.”
The acquisition adds Avista Colombia to the group of companies that currently make up Grupo Cibest, while the fintech will maintain its independence.
Avista Will Keep Its Brand and Business Strategy
Following the transaction, Avista Colombia will retain its brand, business strategy and focus on payroll-deducted loans, as well as other financial products related to payrolls and pensions.
The company will continue operating with its existing focus, while benefiting from the capabilities available through Grupo Cibest.
For customers, there will be no changes to the way they are served.
