Ruvo Expands Cross-Border Financial Services for Brazilian Users With Eyes on Growth

Brazilian cross-border financial platform Ruvo is accelerating its market expansion to compete with established global account providers such as Wise, Revolut, Nomad, and Nubank Ultravioleta. Founded in 2025, the fintech utilizes a model combining Brazil’s instant payment system, Pix, and dollar-pegged stablecoins to facilitate international money transfers, multi-currency accounts, and digital asset management for individuals and enterprises.

Ruvo Scales Its Cross-Border Financial Services in Brazil

Led by co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Alec Howard alongside Chief Technology Officer Mike Mason, the company initially tailored its infrastructure toward software engineers before broadening its scope to freelancers, students, and import-export businesses. The platform generates revenue primarily through stablecoin acquisition fees, card interchange rates, and digital asset yield products.

Stablecoin-Powered Transfers and a Growing Customer Base

Ruvo reported that its monthly transaction volume has scaled 4.1 times since February 2026, pushing its active client base past 3,000 accounts. More than half of this acquisition stems from customer referrals, with the company targeting an annualized transaction volume exceeding R$ 1 billion by the close of 2026.

To differentiate itself from larger competitors, the firm emphasizes localized localization for Brazilian consumers and human-backed customer service integrated with artificial intelligence via WhatsApp. Additionally, the company leverages a regulatory interpretation regarding stablecoins to offer exemption from Brazil’s Financial Operations Tax (IOF) on eligible operations.

Ruvo’s Expansion Plans and Brazil’s Competitive Fintech Market

The cross-border financial services sector in Latin America's largest economy has experienced intense competition as digital accounts increasingly challenge traditional banking institutions. Major international entrants like Wise and Revolut, alongside localized players, have driven widespread adoption of multi-currency wallets. Ruvo’s market entry follows a seed funding round closed in January 2026, wherein the startup raised US$ 4.6 million in capital led by 1confirmation, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Rebel Fund, and international angel investors, following its selection for Y Combinator’s Batch Summer 2025.

Looking ahead, Ruvo plans to roll out support for euro and British pound transactions alongside SWIFT network capabilities to satisfy corporate demand. While international corridors remain part of its opportunistic roadmap, executive leadership maintains that the company's core strategic focus remains anchored firmly within the Brazilian market.
