Startuplinks Celebrates Six Years Connecting Startups and Investors Across LatAm
Startuplinks celebrates six years as one of Latin America’s leading Spanish-speaking Venture Capital platforms, connecting startups, investors, accelerators, and ecosystem players across the region.
Startuplinks has reached its sixth anniversary as one of the most recognized Spanish-speaking Venture Capital communities and platforms in Latin America. Founded in 2020 by Israel García Ballesteros, the initiative has grown into a regional network that today includes more than 275 Venture Capital funds and accelerators across the ecosystem.
Its evolution mirrors the broader expansion of the Latin American startup market, which closed 2025 with US$4.126 billion invested, according to the Latin America Venture Capital Report 2026.
From Balero Ventures to Building a Regional VC Community
The origins of Startuplinks are closely tied to García Ballesteros’ experience at Balero Ventures, a Zapopan-based accelerator and investment fund launched in 2015 to support early-stage technology startups across Latin America.
During his time working with startups and investors, García Ballesteros identified a major gap within the regional ecosystem: the lack of accessible information, structured resources, and Spanish-language educational content explaining how Venture Capital operates in practice.
That gap led to the launch of Startuplinks in May 2020. The platform was created with the objective of helping pre-seed and seed-stage startups understand Venture Capital dynamics while facilitating connections with institutional investors.
What began as a community initiative quickly evolved into a regional meeting point for entrepreneurs, funds, accelerators, corporations, and innovation organizations throughout Latin America.
Over the years, Startuplinks has collaborated with organizations including Ruta N, Notion, Zendesk, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Amazon, Oracle, Satrack, and the Central America Angel Fund Initiative, among others.

Expanding Beyond a Startup Directory
Throughout the past six years, Startuplinks has broadened its role far beyond functioning as a simple ecosystem database.
The platform now combines specialized news coverage, networking opportunities, startup perks, and increasingly, structured data and analytical insights focused on the Venture Capital industry in Latin America.
One of its most recognized initiatives has been its Reverse Pitch events, where investment funds present their investment theses directly to startup founders. The organization has also hosted in-person events in cities such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Guatemala City, Medellín, and San José, Costa Rica.
As a result, Startuplinks has positioned itself as one of the leading visibility and networking platforms for startups and investors across the region.
Anniversary Events Bring Together Ecosystem Leaders

The company celebrated its sixth anniversary during the week of May 18, 2026, with a series of networking events designed to gather entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, and innovation leaders.
The main celebration took place in Mexico City at the offices of Clara and featured networking sessions alongside specialized talks, including participation from Leonardo Ramos.
The anniversary activities also included collaboration with several ecosystem partners representing different segments of the startup and investment landscape. Among them were BBVA Spark, which additionally hosted a breakfast session with ecosystem participants, as well as Oracle, Grow, and BVC.
The diversity of participating organizations — spanning banking, financial infrastructure, enterprise technology, and startup services — highlights the role Startuplinks has built as a neutral platform connecting different layers of the innovation ecosystem.
A Platform Growing Alongside the LATAM VC Market
Six years after its launch, Startuplinks continues evolving alongside the Latin American Venture Capital ecosystem itself.
The company’s growth comes during a period of significant transformation for regional investment markets. For the first time in more than a decade, Mexico surpassed Brazil as the leading destination for Venture Capital investment in Latin America.
In that context, platforms capable of organizing information, generating visibility, and strengthening community ties in Spanish have become increasingly important for the development of the ecosystem.
That positioning is precisely what Startuplinks has focused on building since its launch in 2020.
