SunCompany, a Colombian cleantech startup, has raised more than US$15 million to accelerate its solar and battery storage projects in Latin America. The financing round includes US$9.8 million in Series B equity and US$5 million in debt, with support from Bancolombia Ventures and SEAF.

Building a Regional Solar Leader

Founded by Juan Diego Gómez and Mauricio Hoyos, SunCompany has evolved into a holding group that oversees subsidiaries like Dispower and Sunwa Technologies. The company focuses on delivering hybrid solar and storage solutions, with operations in Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Guyana.

To date, SunCompany has installed 57.6 MW of solar power and 58.3 MWh of storage systems, strengthening its role as a regional player in clean energy infrastructure.

Trusted by Major Clients

SunCompany’s ability to execute large-scale projects has earned the trust of major clients such as Bancolombia, Ecopetrol, Enel, and Grupo Energía de Bogotá. By working with both corporate and industrial partners, the company contributes to greater energy efficiency, reduced carbon footprints, and long-term sustainability across sectors.

Driving Growth With Fresh Capital

The new investment will allow SunCompany to expand its portfolio of solar + storage projects, enhance its credit and contracting models, and scale operations across Latin America.

Energy demand is growing and grids need more resilience. Our solutions help meet that challenge by combining solar with storage for reliable, sustainable energy,” explained Juan Diego Gómez, co-founder of SunCompany.

Why SunCompany Matters

Latin America faces increasing energy needs, and hybrid renewable models are becoming essential to ensure stability and sustainability. With its proven capacity, strong client base, and the recent US$15M raise, SunCompany is positioning itself as one of the most promising cleantech startups in the region.

As co-founder Mauricio Hoyos emphasized, the company’s mission is not only about deploying clean technology but also about creating long-term impact:
