Visma acquires Argentinian Startup Lara AI
Lara AI is acquired by Visma, setting its sights on solidifying its presence in Mexico and extending its footprint across Latin America.

Visma, a major European and Latin American software provider, has announced its acquisition of Lara AI, an Argentine startup specializing in artificial intelligence solutions for Human Resources. This strategic move strengthens Visma’s position in the Latin American HR Tech market by enhancing its ability to offer AI-powered tools for workforce management and employee experience.
Transforming HR through ai-powered automation
HR professionals often face challenges in balancing administrative tasks with high-impact strategic work. Lara AI was born to shift that paradigm. By integrating conversational AI and real-time analytics into HR workflows, the platform automates repetitive duties like responding to FAQs, processing tickets, and sending personalized communications to employees, freeing up HR teams to focus on talent development and cultural growth.
As a virtual HR Business Partner, Lara AI helps companies identify dissatisfied or at-risk employees early, providing insights that enable proactive retention strategies. This is especially critical in hybrid and remote work environments, where maintaining consistent employee engagement is more complex.
A strategic partnership for scale and impact
With over 4.5 million users already leveraging Visma’s HR solutions, the addition of Lara AI will bolster the company’s product portfolio with next-generation capabilities. Álvaro Capobianco, Visma’s Business Area Director for Latin America, noted that Lara AI’s integration will “streamline talent management and elevate employee experiences across organizations of all sizes.”

Guido Kuznicki, CEO and co-founder of Lara AI, emphasized the opportunity: “Visma’s reach and expertise give us the platform to scale rapidly, continue innovating, and provide even more value to companies across the region.”
His co-founder and CTO, Alan Szpigiel, added, “There’s a strong alignment in our missions. Together, we can solve HR challenges faster and more effectively.”
A strong investment backing and regional expansion
Before the acquisition, Lara AI had already attracted attention from key investors. The startup closed a $1.1 million funding round with participation from Newtopia VC, 500 LatAm, FJ Labs, MrPink VC, Brazil Venture Capital, and a group of angel investors. These resources supported the development of its AI-powered assistant and expansion strategy.
Lara AI is now setting its sights on solidifying its presence in Mexico and extending its footprint across Latin America, with Visma’s infrastructure and network offering the perfect launchpad for regional growth.
