Plinq, a Brazilian startup founded in 2025, is turning a common dating habit into a dedicated digital tool. Its web platform allows women to search a potential partner’s name and phone number against public court records and official government gazettes to identify potential criminal or legal red flags.

Since launching in June 2025, the platform has recorded more than 60,000 users and nearly 85,000 searches.

Plinq Raises US$254K in First Funding Round

Plinq has raised US$254,000 in its first funding round, led by Spectra Investments and backed by a group of angel investors.

The round included Anton Osika, cofounder and CEO of Lovable; Liana Selles, cofounder of Ella Wealth; Fernando Montero, founder and CEO of Doji; and José Gerardo Carrero, former IT director at P&G.

The funding will support Plinq’s next stage of growth as the startup works to expand its product and business model.

From Online Searches to a Dedicated Platform

Before a first date, people often search for information about a potential partner online. Plinq formalizes that behavior through a web platform designed to let women conduct searches using a person’s name and phone number.

The platform checks these details against public court records and official government gazettes, giving users a way to identify potential criminal or legal red flags.

Since its launch in June 2025, Plinq has reached more than 60,000 users and generated nearly 85,000 searches.

Plinq Plans Mobile App and New Revenue Streams

The startup plans to use its new funding to launch a mobile app in early September and expand its current 10-person team.

Plinq also plans to transition toward a subscription-based model while developing additional revenue streams through advertising and government contracts.

The company’s next phase will therefore focus on expanding its user base, growing its team and diversifying how it generates revenue.
