Two young entrepreneurs, Rodrigo Verduzco and Carlos Díaz, accomplished this by transforming the lives of thousands of people with no prior investment experience. Their innovative platform provides access to the U.S. stock market through a friendly, intuitive, and inclusive mobile app, leveraging technology and AI.
With their platform, RUUT, they became the first fintech startup from Latin America to win the Nasdaq Fintech Trailblazer Contest, an initiative that highlights and supports emerging companies in the fintech sector that revolutionize investment and provide access to real-time financial data.
What is RUUT and how is it revolutionizing investment in LATAM?
In 2021, Rodrigo and Carlos identified a gap in the market and realized that only 4% of the Mexican population had an investment account, and that 93% of these investors were concentrated on a single platform. That’s when they created RUUT, a platform that democratizes access to investment in global markets.
As alumni of ITAM’s Financial Management program, they positioned RUUT as one of the most innovative fintech startups in LATAM in just three years.

With their recent win in the Nasdaq Fintech Trailblazer Contest, RUUT also became the first LATAM startup to receive this recognition, solidifying its position as a global leader in the fintech sector.
Launched in 2022, the Nasdaq Fintech Trailblazer Contest aims to recognize and empower the most disruptive startups in the financial space, providing them with marketing, investment, and networking opportunities with industry leaders.
This recognition from Nasdaq validates the vision of Rodrigo, Carlos, and their team, who have worked tirelessly to revolutionize investment in the region.
RUUT and its impact on financial inclusion
To date, more than 27,000 people have found RUUT to be a reliable and accessible tool for growing their wealth. The platform allows thousands of novice investors to enter the financial market without traditional barriers.
“Today, RUUT is the investment platform for more than 27,000 Mexicans, of which more than 23,000 are investing for the first time with us,” says Díaz. “Looking back, I’m very grateful to those who became part of this when it was just a PowerPoint presentation,” he added.
In 2023, Arta Finance was awarded this recognition, and in 2024 it was given to Transaction Technologies Limited from Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
