Teachy acquires Nero.AI, adding AI talent and technology to its education platform
Teachy has acquired Nero.AI in a seven-digit acquihire deal, adding AI talent and intellectual property to accelerate the development of its education technology platform.
Teachy has acquired AI software house Nero.AI in a seven-digit acquihire transaction that brings together technical talent, intellectual property, and a shared focus on transforming education through artificial intelligence.
Founded to develop AI-powered solutions for education, Teachy announced the acquisition of Nero.AI, a software house specializing in artificial intelligence applications. The transaction, valued in the seven-digit range, was structured as an acquihire, incorporating both Nero.AI's technical team and its intellectual property into Teachy.
Acquisition driven by technical talent and a shared education mission
According to Pedro Siciliano, founder and CEO of Teachy, the acquisition was motivated by the combination of technical expertise and alignment with the company's educational mission.
"Nero.AI has an extremely intelligent team, with senior-level professionals despite being very young, and people who are deeply passionate about education," Siciliano said.
He explained that speed has become a critical competitive advantage in the artificial intelligence era. Finding a team capable of moving quickly while sharing the same commitment to education reinforced the decision to bring both companies together. Discussions leading to the acquisition began in April and lasted approximately two months.

Founding team joins Teachy following the acquihire
Founded in 2023, Nero.AI started as a boutique AI consultancy and software house. In less than two years, the company reached its first million in revenue, participated in more than 100 projects, and developed over 30 AI products for organizations including Fundação Lemann, Sebrae, Insper, Adapta, and Poder360, all without raising external funding.
As part of the agreement, five members of Nero.AI's development team are joining Teachy.
Hudson Araujo, Samuel Jabes, and Gustavo Valente, all members of Nero.AI's founding team, will become partners at Teachy. Mateus Pereira Borba and Vitor Hideki are also making the transition to the company. Meanwhile, Gabriel Valentim will lead the integration of Nero.AI's technical assets while overseeing the technology area within Teachy.
Valentim described education as a personal mission.
"My first motivation was to pursue a better education," he said.
Having grown up in the countryside of Alagoas, he attended public schools before entering a private university through a scholarship program. He now sees the integration with Teachy as an opportunity to apply the knowledge developed at Nero.AI to benefit teachers, students, and educational institutions while expanding that impact on a much larger scale.

Teachy aims to expand its global education platform
Teachy currently supports 6 million teachers across more than 100,000 schools worldwide. Its customer base includes Bernoulli, Maristas, and Objetivo.
While the company did not disclose its revenue figures, it expects to double in size by the end of the year and significantly expand the number of schools it serves through direct contracts across Brazil.
