Tractian Raises US $130 Million in Series D
Industrial artificial intelligence platform Tractian has successfully raised US $130 million in a Series D financing round, achieving a valuation of US $1.4 billion. The funding round was led by Sapphire Ventures and co-led by Catalyst, the growth equity strategy managed by British firm M&G. Additional participation came from prominent global investors including General Catalyst, Bosch Ventures, N47, and Y Combinator.
Physical AI Powers Industrial Monitoring
Founded in São Paulo and headquartered in Atlanta, Tractian specializes in "Physical AI", combining IoT-enabled vibration and ultrasound sensors with proprietary software models to monitor heavy machinery, diagnose structural root causes, and eliminate unplanned industrial downtime. The company’s agentic platform is currently deployed across more than 2,000 critical facilities worldwide, serving prominent enterprise clients such as Eli Lilly, Whirlpool, Coca-Cola bottling facilities, Cummins, and Embraer.

According to CEO and co-founder Igor Marinelli, the fresh capital will be dedicated to accelerating research and development, advancing multimodal intelligence models, and expanding operations across global manufacturing and data center markets.
"When we led Tractian's Series C, we believed that combining hardware, data, and AI would give the company a real edge. Since then, our thesis has only strengthened," said Anders Ranum, Partner at Sapphire Ventures. "We're thrilled to once again lead Tractian's latest round and continue our partnership with Igor and his team."

The Growing Demand for Industrial AI
The blockbuster financing reflects an accelerating global shift toward advanced automation and predictive reliability within asset-heavy sectors, including manufacturing, energy, pharmaceuticals, and mission-critical data centers. Industry estimates indicate that unexpected equipment failures cost the world’s largest industrial enterprises roughly 11% of annual revenue, creating an urgent demand for real-time asset health monitoring.
Concurrently, the manufacturing sector faces mounting labor headwinds, with organizations struggling to retain institutional knowledge amid workforce retirements. Tractian’s technology addresses this dual challenge by converting legacy equipment data into automated maintenance workflows. Having accumulated over US $ 310 million in total funding since its inception, the company’s rapid ascent to unicorn status underscores strong institutional appetite for enterprise AI solutions capable of driving tangible operational efficiencies and supply chain resilience on a global scale.
