Prosus Leads US$18M Investment in Mevo to Scale Healthcare Digitization
Mevo raises US$18M led by Prosus to scale its e-prescription platform in Brazil, aiming to connect patients, providers, and services across the healthcare journey.
Mevo, Brazil’s leading e-prescription healthtech, has raised US$18 million (R$ 95M) in a new funding round led by Prosus, with participation from existing investors including Matrix, Jefferson River, and Floating Point. The announcement follows the company’s US$24 million Series B in 2024, reinforcing confidence in its platform and growth trajectory.
Strengthening a connected patient journey
The newly raised capital will support Mevo’s strategy to position digital prescriptions as the gateway to a more integrated healthcare experience. The company aims to streamline processes such as exam scheduling, integration with patient support programs, and online medication fulfillment.
“At scale, this creates a powerful foundation for ecosystem growth, connecting patients to a broader range of services across the care journey,” said Pedro Dias. He added that Mevo expects 20 million patients to be treated through its digital prescriptions in 2026.
Addressing inefficiencies in Brazil’s healthcare system

Founded in 2017, Mevo initially focused on digitizing prescriptions, tackling a major inefficiency in Brazil’s healthcare landscape. Today, more than 150 million people handle approximately one billion handwritten prescriptions annually, creating barriers to more integrated and efficient care delivery.
By digitizing this process, Mevo has built the foundation for a broader healthcare ecosystem that connects patients, providers, and service platforms.
Three pillars driving Mevo’s growth
Mevo’s expansion strategy is structured around three key business lines:
- Core e-prescription platform serving both large healthcare institutions and individual practitioners
- Mevo Shop, a patient-facing portal enabling exam scheduling and online pharmacy purchases
- Pharmaceutical solutions vertical, connecting pharma companies with physicians and patients
This multi-layered approach allows the company to operate across different segments of the healthcare value chain.
Expanding institutional reach and market penetration

Mevo’s platform is already integrated into more than 1,100 healthcare institutions and seven major health insurance providers, collectively covering around 30% of Brazil’s private healthcare market.
The company is also widely adopted among leading hospitals, being the platform of choice for 9 of the 10 top-ranked hospitals in Brazil, according to the 2026 Newsweek rankings.
Among individual practitioners, Mevo significantly expanded its presence following its Series B round, increasing its base of prescribers fivefold after acquiring Receita Digital, a key competitor in the segment.
Growth across pharmacy and pharma verticals
In parallel, Mevo has strengthened its pharmacy and fulfillment capabilities. Through Mevo Shop, the platform is now integrated with more than 11 major pharmacy chains and approximately 1,600 retail locations, primarily in Brazil’s Southeast and South regions.
The company has also accelerated its pharmaceutical industry solutions vertical, launched in late 2024. This division enables secure medical education initiatives for physicians while connecting patients to discounts and support programs. It already serves 20 recurring enterprise clients, with additional projects currently under negotiation.

Investor confidence in healthcare digitization
For Prosus, the investment reflects a broader belief in healthcare as a key digital frontier.
“Brazil has consistently shown a strong appetite for digital platforms — from fintech to mobility to food delivery — and we believe healthcare is the next major frontier. Mevo sits at the center of that shift,” said Henrique Iwamoto.
Existing investors also reaffirmed their support.
“It’s been inspiring to see Mevo grow since our first investment,” noted TJ Parker, highlighting the company’s execution track record and leadership in transforming prescription delivery while building a platform that organizes the patient journey.
